We serve infants (6 weeks old) through school age children. While governed by a Board of Directors, First Church of Bellevue Child Care and Preschool is an extension ministry of First Church Bellevue.

We are flexible to meet your needs! Full days, ½ days, or before and/or afterschool. We accept floating schedules and pre-registered drop-ins. Parents are asked to sign contracts that lock in which days and times are needed. Tuition is expected one week in advance. Contact us for pricing. Child Care assistance is available through Sandusky, Seneca, Huron or Erie County Department of Job and Family Services.
We begin each fall with the letter A and then work our way through the alphabet. "Creative Curriculum" is the researched curriculum that is used. Learning activities are play based on children’s interest and Ohio’s Department of Education’s Early Learning Development Standards. We believe that children learn best through play. We provide many opportunities for children to explore materials, develop large and fine motor skills, practice manners and social skills, and develop self-help skills.
Because our program is an extension of First Church, we incorporate Christian Education within our program. We have weekly large group children’s worship called “Bible Basics” and small group classroom activities that focus on the basics of Christianity.
We are a Bronze level program meaning we exceed Ohio's minimum health and safety licensing standards.
- Staff use a curriculum to plan classroom activities.
- Our teachers use instructional materials that help them plan lessons and activities. The state of Ohio has approved the curriculum we are using.
- Staff completes an additional ten (10) hours of professional development each year.
- The administrator and teaching staff commit to expanding their knowledge and skills to better support your child’s development and learning.
- Teachers use the Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards.
- Our staff are aware that there are state standards that explain child development and this information helps our teachers in supporting your child’s growth and learning.
- The program demonstrates a commitment to building relationships with families.
- Our staff makes information available about community services and resources that can support all families.
- The program commits to on-going improvement.
- Our program looks for ways to make our program even better. By conducting self-assessments, we work to find areas of strength and areas where we can improve.
We have an open door policy where parents and relatives are welcome to come, visit, and participate within our program. Periodically, we host family events where parents, grandparents or a special friend are invited to join us.
