Roles & Responsibilities

WEEKLY COMMITMENTS

We have the following roles with GLOW that require a weekly commitment during Wednesdays when school is in session from 3:15-5:15p:

  • Team Leaders → Leads 3-5 Group Leaders; Opens & Directs the Singing/Videos; Ensures Group Leaders Have Everything Needed
  • Group Leaders → Leads a group of 4-7 kids; Engages with students from start to finish; Participates in all stations with students.
  • Group Assistants (for HS/MS Students) → Helps their group leader; May fill in for absent group leader.
  • Game Director → Decides and directs the game station.
  • Game Assistant → Helps the game director; Fills in for the game stations when the Game Director is unable to be present.
  • Assistant Director → Helps Pastor Brad make sure all i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed; helps with attendance, communication, preparation, etc.
  • Media Capturer → Takes videos and photos during GLOW. Uploads them to a central folder to post online.
REGULAR PRESENCE

The following role does not require a weekly commitment but does require a regular presence within GLOW and a willingness to learn and prepare substantially ahead of time:

  • GLOW Storyteller → Learns our framework for sharing Jesus stories in a public setting and then teaches kids through story and interaction.
NON-WEEKLY COMMITMENTS

We have the following roles that do not require a weekly commitment:

  • Pray & Prep Team → Prays over students and volunteers while helping prepare items and materials. This team will be called upon as needed and will meet during daytime office hours.
  • Snack Providers → Prepare and deliver a snack and drink for 90 kids and 30 volunteers. Yes, we want our volunteers to eat with our kids… Please do not include common allergens (nuts/dairy/gluten) in your snack. Exact amounts of snacks will be determined after registrations and volunteers are finalized.

Common Questions

Yes! Absolutely! We understand that things come up, travel plans are made, people get sick, and so forth! What we need is the general commitment to weekly presence and follow through on the schedule. Please communicate your availability/unavailability in the volunteer form or as things arise. Then, we will work to make it all work!

Great question! You can provide snacks as one way to particiapte, another is the prayer and prep team. Or, maybe if you are an administrative ninja or skilled at hobby photography, you can help in those ways which are not specifically group leaders with sustained direct interaction with kids.
