AL was a student who was not able to particiapte in GLOW in prior years; they were never able to make the registration cut off. However, since AL was able to participate this past year, they have found God! It's been a great and beautiful thing! Since then, it's like AL has led us all to God; we are now growing closer to Him regularly. We are excited to be walking with God, and thankful that AL was able to be a part of GLOW. - Parent Testimony
N.H. recalls: "Last year, after the story on the Good Samaritan, about 2 weeks later I was talking with one of the groups about things they remembered from weeks past. One of the boys said we all need to be the "orange"! The visual from the Samaritan lesson had a couple of "rob-acados" (avocados) attack a lemon, while the orange ("Orangitarian") was the Good Samaritan who showed we are to be unexpectedly kind!"
H.W. remembers: "Hearing the littles recite the creed at the end of the year without looking was awesome! Talking with the kids at snack time and having them explain to me what we learned during glow time always made me smile. Sometimes they would repeat the lesson word for word and sometimes they would explain it how they comprehended it.
I made a new little friend who looked up to me and greeted me weekly with the biggest hug and smile. One of my little boys told me me and his mom are his favorite ladies. 😂 Hearing them grow confident in their prayers before snack always brightened my week. Knowing that some of the kids wouldn't learn about God if it wasn't for our program keeps me going."
It's these and similar types of stories that show how energizing and rewarding the ministry work of GLOW can be! What will be one of your favorite moments?
Yes! Absolutely! We understand that things come up, travel plans are made, people get sick, and so forth! What we need is the general commitment to weekly presence and follow through on the schedule. Please communicate your availability/unavailability in the volunteer form or as things arise. Then, we will work to make it all work!
Great question! You can provide snacks as one way to particiapte, another is the prayer and prep team. Or, maybe if you are an administrative ninja or skilled at hobby photography, you can help in those ways which are not specifically as group leaders having sustained direct interaction with kids.
